IRA mortar attacks
The next set of videos show IRA attacks using home-made mortar bombs.
The first video shows a news report of an attack carried out by the Derry Brigade of the Provisional IRA which killed an RUC Officer and injured a number of other soldiers and RUC when they fired a horizontal mortar at the patrol. The attack occured on the 17th of September 1991 in the town of Swatragh.

The second video shows an interview with a member of the British Parachute Regiment after the Monaghan Brigade of the Provisional IRA carried out a Mortar attack on their base in the town of Roslea in County Fermanagh on the 9th of May 1983. The attack injured two British soldiers.

The third video shows the famous Provisional IRA attack on 10 Downing Street on the 7th of February 1991. Two Police Officers were injured in the attack when mortars rained down on the grounds of the British Prime Ministers Residence.

The final video shows a Provisional IRA "Barrack-Buster" Mortar attack on a British Observation Post near Newtownhamilton in south Armagh. The attack was carried out in August 1994 shortly before the first ceasefire. Three British soldiers were injured.
